What is the name of the current Brahma ?
I was searching for the name to put for my blog I came across the word VIRINCHI very accidentally. I picked it up from the famous telugu song of SIRIVENNALA film which goes like this
"Virinchi nai virachinchithini ee kavanam ..."
The exact translation of the above sentence is `Composed this poem by becoming VIRINCHI'.
Accidentally I didn't know the meaning of the word VIRINCHI. So while searching for the meaning of this word I came across a stunning and stumbling fact.
Brahma has a life span of one kalpa at the end of which even he ceases to exist giving way to his successor- a new Brahma. The present kalpa is seventh in order as six kalpas have already passed.
The name of the Brahma of first Kalpa - Virinchi.
The name of the Brahma of second Kalpa - Padmabhu.
The name of the Brahma of third Kalpa - Swayambhu.
The name of the Brahma of fourth Kalpa - Parmeshthi.
The name of the Brahma of fifth Kalpa - Surajyeshtha
The name of the Brahma of sixth Kalpa - Hemagarbha.
The name of the Brahma of seventh Kalpa - Shatanand.
Till now I was in the assumption that I have a reasonable knowldege of our Puranas but the word Virinchi proved me wrong.

a very auspicious beginning. hope some of shatandanda (the present kalpa's brahma)'s
'srishtivaibhavam' rubs off on it!
I learn to understand that reading the blogs of people from different places with different tastes have a lot to offer the unlearned. Thanks for "Virinchi".
Wonderful. Do you have the meaning of the whole song in beautiful detail?
The song as given by you is incorrect..
it should actually read
virinchinai virachinchitini ee kavanam
vipanchinai vinipinchitini ee geetam
Never knew that brahma too has life span. A lot of mystery and too much to know frm our puranas...
-Vineela.

woah..very thanQ 2 u...my name is Virinchi..but i know only dat it is Lord Brahma's name..but i donno d exact purana abt it..thanx a lot..!!
Hi sir, good info. But I have some corrections for the details you provided. Bramha life span is not one kalpa. 1 kalpa = 1 day for bramha, 1 kalpa sandhya (pralayam) = 1 night for bramha. like this 360 kalpas = one year for bramha, 100 years = one life span of bramha. Here is what is meant by kalpa:
1 kalpa = 14 Manvantaraalu,
1 Manvantaram = 71 Mahaa yugalu,
1 Mahaa Yugamu = 4 yugalu (Kruta, treta, dwapara and kali)
1 Mahaa yugam = 43,20,000 yrs
1 Mavantaram(71 Mahaa yugalu)= 30,67,20,000 yrs)
1 Kalpa (14 Manvantaraalu)=4,32,00,00,000 years(432 crores)
Which means 432 kotla savastaraalu = 1 pagalu for Bramha
Atuvanti 100 years is the life span of Bramha.
And you are right, next bramha will be Hanumantudu as per puranas.
I do have more info on kalpa and all you can reach me on rrnreddy@gmail.com

I am also in your position at this moment - surprised - surprisingly, I also started searching for "Virinchi" from the same song ..
Thank you for the information. I am also looking for the meaning of Virinchi. I knew who is Virinchi from your blog but what is the meaning of Virinchi? Is it a synonym of Padmasambhava? Viri is flower.

Hey, is Brahma also called as Rayirth? If yes, then can you please tell the scripture which mentions Rayirth as another name for lord Brahma.
Thanks
GREAT!!!
"Virinchi Naaraayana Shankaraatma" I am telling this Mantra every day from my childhood!

Can anyone tell me is Lord Brahma also called Rayirth ? Can anyone shed light on why he is called Rayirth ?
"Virinchi Naaraayana Shankaraatma" - sounds like Brahma Vishnu Maheshwara.
